The Challenges Faced by Families
In Taiwan, 1 in every 1,263 newborns is born with Down syndrome. In addition to intellectual disability, many individuals may also experience congenital heart disease, immune system disorders, low muscle tone, and vision or hearing impairments. Without adequate support, families often face an average of 55 years of caregiving responsibility, with medical costs reaching up to 13 times higher than those of the general population.
However, with access to early intervention, integrated healthcare, day care services, vocational training, sheltered workshops, and inclusive education and advocacy, people with Down syndrome can develop their abilities, live with greater independence, support themselves through work, reduce the burden on their families, and actively participate in society.

Stand with our Ambassador Cheryl Yang to Support People with Down Syndrome
In 2026, our ambassador Cheryl Yang calls on everyone to support people with Down syndrome—individuals who continue to grow with sincerity and determination. Through understanding, care, and support, we can help more individuals with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities, along with their families, step forward with confidence and participate in society.
We invite you to join us in supporting people with Down syndrome. Your monthly donation provides steady and lasting support for their families. Every small contribution, when combined, creates meaningful impact—helping sustain early intervention services, sheltered workshop operations, day care services, and advocacy for an inclusive society. Your support empowers them to learn, grow, and move forward with confidence. Support this cause and help create a more caring and inclusive world.
